My Applications
Below are some of the applications that I've built. All of these have been built to enable me to learn new tools and technologies as well as to increase my skill set.
Care Bucks
I've been enamored with SwiftUI and was looking for a project that I could use to learn it. Enter Care Bucks.
You can’t be 100% emotionally invested in everything and Care Bucks is here to help. Care Bucks provides a quick and easy way to log the things that you care about, so you can get back to what’s important. You can also graphically see where you’re spending your hard earned emotional dollars on a weekly basis. Start managing your emotional spending and track the things that matter most.
J Bug
My desire to learn SpriteKit for iOS resulted in the creation of J Bug. I wanted to build something that would be fun to play and to also include my daughter in the app development process. I named the game after my daughter's nickname which she thought was cool. She also makes a cameo voice appearance in the game when the Angry 'Copter captures the hero.
The goal of this game is to collect as many stars as you can before the Angry 'Copter catches you. But be warned, he gets faster the longer you play!
Capital Challenge
I created Capital Challenge as an entry into the Alexa Skills Kids competition. This Skill is built using .NET Core and Amazon AWS.
Part of the entry requirement was to create a demo of how to use your skill. I thought a fun way to demonstrate the skill was to create a skit with my daughter which you watch below. While we didn't win we had great fun and learned a lot.
If you or your child is looking for a fun and engaging way to learn the US States and their capitals then look no further than Capital Challenge!
